This Privacy Policy explains how HEICHub ("HEICHub", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use heichub.com and its tools (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy, and our tools are built around a simple principle: your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us.

1. The short version

  • The images you convert are never uploaded to our servers. All conversion happens locally in your browser.
  • We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or payment details to use the tools.
  • We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used.
  • We display advertising, and our advertising partners may use cookies as described below.

2. Who is responsible for your data

3. Your files are never uploaded

HEICHub's converters run entirely in your web browser using WebAssembly. When you add a file, it is read into your browser's memory, converted on your device, and offered back to you as a download.

At no point is the file itself transmitted to us or to any third party. We cannot see, receive, store, or recover the images you convert. When you close or refresh the page, any file data held in memory is discarded.

4. Information we collect

Information you provide

You can use the converters without providing any personal information. If you contact us by email, we will receive the information you choose to include in your message (such as your email address and its contents) so that we can respond.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we and our service providers may automatically collect limited technical information, such as your browser type, device type, approximate region (derived from your IP address), referring pages, and pages viewed. This is used in aggregate to keep the site secure and to improve it.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential: to remember basic preferences and keep the site functioning.
  • Analytics: to measure aggregate traffic and usage trends.

9. Data retention

We do not retain your image files at all, because we never receive them. Aggregate analytics and server logs are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described here.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process technical data in countries other than your own. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for such transfers.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

12. Security

Because conversion happens on your device and files are never uploaded, the most sensitive data never leaves your control. For the limited data we do handle, we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it.
